Seoul court approves Ador request to freeze assets linked to Danielle’s family, Min Hee Jin

A Seoul court has approved a request by Ador to freeze assets belonging to former NewJeans member Danielle’s family and former CEO Min Hee Jin.

According to The Korea Herald, the court decision covers a combined claim of 7 billion won (about $4.73 million), with 5 billion won directed at Min Hee Jin and 2 billion won at Danielle’s mother.

The provisional seizure aims to prevent the disposal of assets ahead of a final ruling, ensuring any potential damages can be enforced.

The move is tied to Ador’s broader 43 billion won damages lawsuit filed on December 29 against Danielle, her mother, and Min Hee Jin. In January, Ador sought the asset freeze as a precautionary measure, excluding Danielle from that specific request.

Since 2024, Min Hee Jin and NewJeans have been embroiled in lengthy legal battles with HYBE Labels and its subsidiaries.

In December 2025, Danielle exited NewJeans as Ador terminated her contract.

In February, a Seoul court ruled in favor of Min Hee Jin in relation to her put option issue (stock purchase claim right) with HYBE, ordering the entertainment label to pay her 25.5 billion won (approximately P1 billion). —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
