BTS, Madonna, Shakira to headline first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show in July
The first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show is all set to launch with the help of today’s biggest musicians!
BTS, Madonna, and Shakira have been announced as the headliners of the show, happening on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
In a video posted by Coldplay, vocalist and halftime show curator Chris Martin asked for the help of “Sesame Street” characters like Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Miss Piggy, among others, to come up with a show lineup.
“This show is more about ‘we’ than ‘me.’ I mean, it’s about togetherness, really,” Chris said in the video.
The FIFA World Cup Final halftime show is produced by Global Citizen. It will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which improves access to quality education and football for children around the world.
BTS is currently embarking on their "Arirang" World Tour, which kicked off in South Korea in April. It is in support of their comeback album, "Arirang," their first since 2022.
The Philippine stop is happening in 2027.
Meanwhile, Madonna is set to release her new album “Confessions II” in July. She was recently a surprise guest at Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella set, and they collaborated on the single “Bring Your Love.”
Finally, the iconic Shakira returns for this year's World Cup song, "Dai Dai."
