American Music Awards 2026: BTS wins Artist of the Year, 2 other trophies shortly after comeback

BTS has just returned to the music scene, yet they're already making big wins!

The South Korean supergroup was honored at the American Music Awards 2026 in Las Vegas on Tuesday (Philippines), clinching the Artist of the Year Award for the second time in their career.

They were up against Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift.

BTS was also awarded Song of the Summer for their comeback single "Swim," as well as the title of Best Male K-pop Artist, securing trophies for all the categories they were nominated for this year.

"ARMY, we made it once again," leader RM said during their acceptance speech. "Thank you, it's an honor to have this precious award once again after everyone's done their military service."

"Our biggest thanks and gratitude as always goes to all ARMYs all over the world, who stood by us for the past 13 years, thank you so much," he added.

Rapper J-Hope thanked fans for supporting their comeback album "Arirang," released in March after the group's four-year hiatus.

"We have been overwhelmed by the reaction to this album," he said. "Thank you for embracing 'Arirang' and every single song on this album."

Vocalist Jimin also expressed gratitude for the fans "showing so much love" in every city they've been visiting on their "Arirang" World Tour, which kicked off in April.

The seven members of BTS — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — made a grand comeback in March, after going on a hiatus for four years to fulfill their mandatory military service.

Their album "Arirang" earned the group new records and career highs.

BTS is headed to the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan for the Philippine stop of their "Arirang" World Tour on March 13 and 14, 2027.
