'The Ring' star and 'Lilo & Stitch' voice actress Daveigh Chase dies at 35

Daveigh Chase, known for her work in "The Ring" and "Lilo & Stitch," has passed away. She was 35.

Roy Hernandez, Daveigh's boyfriend, told TMZ that the actress succumbed to meningitis and a blood infection, which caused sepsis and ultimately led to her death.

Before her death, Roy set up a GoFundMe campaign titled "Help Daveigh Chase find comfort and peace," after being told by Daveigh's doctor that she didn't have much time left.

"All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days," he wrote.

Daveigh rose to fame after landing her breakthrough role as the voice of Lilo in the 2002 Disney film "Lilo & Stitch" and its follow-up television series. She also voiced Chihiro Ogino in the English dub of "Spirited Away."

Aside from voice acting, Daveigh starred in "The Ring" (2002) as Samara Morgan, the long-haired ghost who crawls out of a television. Her portrayal earned her the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA News
