Harry Collett thanks 'House of the Dragon' fans for accepting him as Jacaerys Velaryon
Harry Collett expressed his gratitude to fans of "House of the Dragon" for accepting him as Prince Jacaerys Velaryon after the third season premiered on Monday.
On Instagram, the 22-year-old British actor shared several photos of him on the set of the series and wrote a lengthy message reflecting on what landing the role means to him.
He thanked HBO and the production for casting him, saying that they changed his life.
"I got cast in this show when I was 17, I was waiting for a role to come along just like this. I’m so eternally grateful that it was even given to me in the first place," he said. "Little Harry would be jumping for joy if he knew this back in the day."
Harry also expressed his appreciation for his fellow cast members, who he said has become a second family to him.
"It's genuinely such a rare treasure to get a cast where everyone gets along and to most importantly feel like a second home. (As much as we are a very dysfunctional family in the show.) I will never ever take that for granted. I have made friends for life," he said.
Finally, he thanked the fans for embracing him.
"Without any of you. I wouldn't be here in the first place. To accept me as your Jace. I am honored. That was all I ever wanted," he said.
"You have been the light in my life for the past five years. So supportive of everything I do. Wherever you are in the world. I genuinely can't put into words how much you all mean to me," he added.
In the series, Jacaerys or Jace is the eldest son and heir of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy). He rides the dragon Vermax.
Harry previously revealed that he adlibbed the line "dracarys," the High Valyrian command for dragonfire, during the Battle of the Gullet in the pilot episode of the third season.
"House of the Dragon" Season 3 is now streaming on exclusively HBO Max with new episodes every Monday.
The series is about the conflict between two branches of the Targaryen dynasty, the Blacks and the Greens, for the Iron Throne.
