Jungkook fan who rang his doorbell 133 times faces imprisonment, deportation; court calls it 'obsession'

A fan of BTS member Jungkook is facing imprisonment and deportation after displaying what a Seoul court called an "extreme level of obsession."

According to the BBC, a Brazilian woman, who is unnamed in court documents, started stalking the K-pop superstar in December 2025.

She left letters and photographs at Jungkook’s doorstep “out of love” for him, spent time loitering around Jungkook’s home, threw items over the wall, and slid letters in between gaps in the door.

According to court documents, she also rang Jungkook’s doorbell 133 times during one visit, and visited the property 22 times.

She was sentenced to one year in prison.

The fan also faces deportation from South Korea unless she manages to have a successful appeal against the verdict.

The woman was previously arrested on December 13, when she followed a food delivery driver to enter the property through a side gate. She was released the next day with a warning to not visit the property again.

After she defied the warning, police issued an emergency order prohibiting her from coming within 100 meters of the property.

The woman was referred to prosecutors in February after she continued visiting Jungkook’s home.

BTS kicked off their world tour in April, following the release of their comeback album "Arirang" in March.

The group will head to the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan for the Philippine stop of their "Arirang" world tour on March 13 and 14, 2027.

The band recently added a third concert in the Philippines. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
