Cha Eun Woo now a Catholic after getting baptized during military service

Cha Eun Woo just got baptized as a Catholic!

According to the Korea Times, the South Korean star officially became a Catholic after being baptized during his mandatory military service in June, his agency confirmed Fantagio on Wednesday.

Previously, News1 reported that the ASTRO member was baptized during a religious ceremony held on his military base as part of faith activities available to service members.

Eun Woo enlisted in the South Korean military in July 2025, serving the military band.

In April, he faced an additional 20 billion won (approximately P800 million) tax assessment following a review by South Korea’s National Tax Service involving a family-owned company founded by his mother.

Following the incident, Eun Woo issued an apology.

"If there's a part I didn't take care of enough, the responsibility is also on me. I will not avoid saying 'I didn't know' or 'It was someone's decision' for any reason," Eun Woo said in Korean, as translated into English. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA News
