Connor Storrie bags first Emmy nomination, but not for 'Heated Rivalry'
Connor Storrie has scored his first-ever Emmy nomination!
Announced on Wednesday night (Philippine time), the Texan actor, best known as Ilya Rozanov in "Heated Rivalry," received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for hosting "Saturday Night Live.”
It was previously reported that "Heated Rivalry" was deemed ineligible for the Emmy Awards because it was fully funded by a Canadian company.
“A foreign television production is ineligible unless it is the result of a co-production (both financially and creatively) between U.S. and foreign partners, which precedes the start of production, and with a purpose to be shown on U.S. television,” the Emmys stated in their ruling.
Meanwhile, "The Pitt" and the final season of "Hacks" lead this year's nominations, with 25 and 24 nods, respectively.
The winners will be announced at a red-carpet ceremony in Los Angeles on September 14. The ceremony will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed on Peacock. "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay will host. —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA News
