NewJeans hints at comeback as 4-member group with new portraits

After more than two months of inactivity on social media, NewJeans appears to be teasing a comeback just in time for the K-pop group's fourth anniversary.

On Instagram, the group shared a new set of portraits featuring its four remaining members: Haerin, Hyein, Minji, and Hanni.

The post has amassed more than 1.8 million reactions in less than 24 hours, drawing mixed reactions from netizens in the comments section. While many expressed excitement over the group's return, others voiced their support for Danielle.

NewJeans was at the center of a lengthy legal dispute with their label ADOR over the group's exclusive contracts.

The group announced that it had terminated its contract with the company in November 2024 after ADOR failed to comply with its request to reinstate former CEO Min Hee Jin following her resignation.

In October 2025, a Seoul court upheld the validity of NewJeans' exclusive contracts with ADOR. Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Hyein, and Haerin resumed activities with the label a month later.

In December 2025, ADOR terminated Danielle's contract, leading to her exit from the group.

NewJeans debuted in 2022 with the single "Attention."
