Louis Tomlinson revisits One Direction songs, shares memories for band's 16th anniversary

Louis Tomlinson marked One Direction's 16th anniversary by revisiting the group's discography and sharing memories behind some of its biggest songs.

On Instagram Stories, Louis listened to the band’s albums, posting screenshots of tracks along the way and adding personal reflections on the music and the memories attached to them.

Among the songs he highlighted was "Moments," which he said marked the first time he felt "really proud" of his own vocal performance on a One Direction track.

Louis also praised the late Liam Payne's vocals on "More Than This," writing, "Pretty sure this was when Liam first discovered his falsetto, I remember how proud we all were. He sounds incredible!"

Louis looked back fondly on "Live While We're Young," saying it was "not my fav but huge pop song," while recalling the fun of filming its music video.

Several tracks also brought back memories of his bandmates.

He called "Don't Forget Where You Belong" "Niall's tune," said "Over Again" always reminds him of Niall Horan, and praised Liam’s "breakdown chorus" on "Through the Dark."

He described "Midnight Memories" as one of his "top 3" One Direction songs, remembering writing it in London, and said hearing the chorus of "Strong" for the first time was a special moment.

Reflecting on "18," Louis shared that it was one of his mother's favorite songs because she had him when she was 18, giving the track "a lovely feeling" whenever he sang it.

He also revealed that he wasn't posting every song despite listening to the albums in order, writing, "P.s I'm listening top to bottom but not putting every song on my story."

Among his other favorites were "Steal My Girl," which he called "one of my favourite singles," and "Long Way Down," which he said makes him "so incredibly proud of where we ended up," adding that it was "far too good for a 'boy band.'"

Louis also wondered whether One Direction had ever released a music video for "Infinity," saying he remembered filming one but thought it might have been scrapped.

One Direction was formed in 2010 when the five members, who entered "The X-Factor" as solo candidates, were grouped together to form a boy band. They signed with Simon Cowell's record label after placing third in the competition.

After Zayn Malik left the band in 2015, the remaining members released the album "Made in the A.M." before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2016. — LA, GMA News
