PBA On Tour: San Miguel holds off Phoenix in Ilagan showdown 

San Miguel hung tough to escape Phoenix and pull off a 94-89 victory in the 2026 PBA On Tour on Saturday at the Capital Arena in Ilagan City, Isabela.

The Beermen, who are missing key pieces Don Trollano and Jerrick Ahanmisi as the duo is currently with Gilas Pilipinas at the Asian Games, still looked formidable against the Fuel Masters.

Tied at 77 in the fourth period, San Miguel turned to veteran Marcio Lassiter, who sank a pair of free throws off a foul from Will Gozum before hitting a long triple to give the Beermen an 84-80 lead in the final minutes.

Ken Tuffin sank two free throws of his own to pull Phoenix within two, 86-84, but Rodney Brondial answered with back-to-back baskets to restore San Miguel’s four-point cushion, 90-86.

The Fuel Masters mounted another comeback, with Ricci Rivero burying a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one, 90-89. But San Miguel once again had the answer, as Mo Tautuaa responded from the other end to keep the Beermen ahead en route to the victory.

The PBA On Tour returns on Sunday with Meralco and Converge gracing the Santiago Sports Arena at 6 p.m.
