UAAP: Ateneo bounces back at Adamson's expense for second win

Ateneo de Manila University bounced back at the expense of Adamson University, 73-68, on Saturday for its second win in the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Soaring Falcons came as close as 69-64 with 38 seconds left in the fourth period before free throws from Jared Bahay off a Monty Montebon foul gave Ateneo a comfortable margin heading into the final moments of the game.

Earl Medina again trimmed Adamson’s deficit, but Bahay’s free throws off Matt Erolon’s foul virtually sealed the victory, with Ray Allen Torres making a final basket for the Soaring Falcons.

Bahay had 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Travis Roberts added 14 points for the Blue Eagles. Ian Espinosa chipped in 10 points.

Precious Jonah led Adamson with 17 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, two assists, and a steal, while Edding and Torres had 12 points apiece.

Ateneo improved to 2-1, while Adamson slipped to 1-1.
