UAAP: NU displays offensive foray, overwhelms Adamson
National University quickly got back in the win column as it convincingly defeated Adamson University, 85-66, Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Bulldogs improved to a 3-2 win-loss record, swiftly erasing the tough loss it experienced last October 3 at the hands of Ateneo de Manila University.
Bigman PJ Palacielo earned player of the game honors, leading NU with a game-high 19 points, eight assists, and two rebounds.
Guard-center pairing Reinhard Jumamoy and Mo Diassana each obtained double-double statlines, with Jumamoy notching 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Diassana producing 15 markers and 12 boards.
Determined to get back to winning ways, the Sampaloc-based squad set the winning tone early, leading by as much as 14 points in the opening quarter.
Despite the Soaring Falcons clawing back towards the final minutes of the third canto, cutting NU’s lead by only six points, the Bulldogs were quick to put out the flames through timely baskets from Diassana and Jumamoy.
Veteran shooter Paul Fransisco also joined the NU scoring party, only trailing Palacielo with 17 points on 46.2% shooting from the field to go along with six rebounds and three steals.
Guards Ray Allen Torres and Matt Erolon led Adamson in scoring today, putting up 14 and 12 points each, as they fall to 2-2 in the team standings.
