UAAP: Reinhard Jumamoy and Kacey Dela Rosa

Reinhard Jumamoy’s clutch heroics and Kacey Dela Rosa’s back-to-back double-doubles earned them the UAAP Season 89 Collegiate Press Corps Players of the Week honors for October 8-12, 2026.

Jumamoy spearheaded National University’s two-game surge in the men’s basketball tournament, delivering in the Bulldogs’ wins over Adamson University and the University of Santo Tomas.

He opened the week with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and a steal in NU’s 85–66 win over Adamson before finishing with 19 points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals against UST, capped by a go-ahead triple in overtime to seal the victory.

His clutch showing earned him the weekly award over fellow Bulldog PJ Palacielo, Far Eastern University’s Mo Konateh and Kirby Mongcopa, Adamson’s Ray Allen Torres, University of the Philippines' Noy Remogat and Veejay Pre, and De La Salle University’s JC Macalalag.

The two victories lifted NU to a 4–2 record as the Bulldogs approach the end of the first round.

Dela Rosa, meanwhile, continued to make her presence felt as Ateneo de Manila University found its footing in the women’s tournament.

The Blue Eagles standout erupted for 26 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, five steals, and two blocks against the Lady Archers before putting up another dominant performance of 25 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, six steals, and two blocks against the Lady Tamaraws.

Those back-to-back double-doubles secured her the weekly distinction over teammate Seng Callago, Adamson’s Elaine Etang and Cheska Apag, UST’s Oma Onianwa, and UP’s Louna Ozar.

Following an 0–2 start, Ateneo has turned its campaign around with consecutive victories, improving to 2–2 and building momentum heading into its next assignments.
