Allado: Playing with passion carried Powerade, Rain or Shine in semis

Barako Bull Energy center Don Allado isn't the least bit shocked that the Powerade Tigers and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are about to play a Game Seven. The two offense-minded underdogs turned a lot of heads by barging into the PBA All-Filipino Cup semifinals, but Allado credits their success to their style of play. "They play the game full of passion, and with both teams playing like that, of course they're going to reach a Game Seven." Allado gives a lot of credit to Paul Lee for Rain or Shine's turnaround, and disagrees with people who say that the Elasto Painters' rookie, the second overall pick in last year's PBA draft, is overrated. "Paul Lee is the missing ingredient of that team. He makes that team what it is now and where they are now. He does a lot of drive and kicks, he does a great job setting up players, finding their shooters, creating mismatches for the other guards and getting the [opposing] big men in foul trouble." At the same time, the former King Archer can't help but note the chemistry between Powerade's three stars, Gary David, and rookies Marcio Lassiter and JV Casio. "Gary David is the one that's leading those guys. Those two guys get emotional back-up from Gary David and confidence from him. When they see Gary doing work, those two complement him."   For more of Don Allado's thoughts on the Powerade-Rain or Shine series, as well as his pick to win the game, watch "For the Win." — AMD/JVP, GMA News
