Boracay Rum aims to barge into the Final Four and challenge the top teams in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup. The Waves clinched a quarterfinals berth in the recently concluded Aspirants Cup but lost to Freego Jeans. The Waves, with an intact line-up, might accomplish that especially with the return of big men Ken Acibar and John Foronda, and the addition of Filipino-Americans Shaun Williams and Sean Baitinger. Both Williams and Baitinger have been practicing with the team for nearly a month now. "Both are still working on their immigration documents so it may take time before they could play," Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson said. "The immediate target is to make the Final Four after our quarterfinals finish in the previous conference," Chongson added.   Chongson, while optimistic on their upcoming campaign, believes NLEX and Cebuan Lhuillier will remain the top two teams in the Foundation Cup's second season. "No team will be able to dislodge NLEX from claiming its third straight title while Cebuana Lhuillier is the top favorite for second place," Chongson said. Nine teams will be competing in the Foundation Cup, which starts March 13. Freego Jeans, composed mostly of Adamson University players, will be skipping the tournament to concentrate in the upcoming UAAP season. Blackwater Elite, Big Chill Super Chargers, Café France Bakers, Junior Powerade Tigers, Pacific Pipes Steel Masters, Cagayan Rising Suns and Erase Placenta are the other competing teams.
