The Philippine Patriots are hoping that momentum stays on their side when they visit the Singapore Slingers in the 3rd ASEAN Basketball League on Sunday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Nakiea Miller, who finally regained his shooting touch, is again expected to lead the Patriots' charge with locals Kiko Adriano and Bogs Raymundo out to contribute on both ends of the floor. The 6-foot-9 Miller waxed hot in the final half to finish with 19 points, including a three-pointer that propelled the Patriots to a 90-87 win over the Malaysia Dragons last week in Kuala Lumpur. The reigning Best Import also grabbed 14 rebounds to highlight his brilliant game against his former team. That win capped the Patriots' 10-day road trip as the Patriots that saw them sweep all their three games to remain on top of the eight-team tournament with a 10-2 record. Patriots coach Glenn Capacio said, with the tournament nearing its end, said they can't afford to lower their guards since he wants his team to be at full strength during the playoffs. "We need to stay hot and focused," said Capacio, who added that their veterans—Al Vergara, Jonathan Fernandez, Reed Juntilla and Warren Ybanez—need to step up if the Patriots want to beat the Slingers. — JVP, GMA News
