Chot Reyes
Can Talk 'N Text remain as the PBA Commissioner's Cup titlist? Or will B-MEG crown itself as the new second conference champion? The answer will be known Sunday when the Tropang Texters and Llamados clash for the last time in a winner-take-all Game Seven at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. "One game for all the marbles, it's what a championship is all about," said Texters coach Reyes after his wards forced a do-or-die match Friday night. "I just told the players, whatever happens nobody's going to take it against them. It's for you to decide to make the push," added Reyes after Talk 'N Text, which trailed early in the game(15-3). "The key was to stay calm and find a way to fight back." The Texters did fought back in the game, outscoring the Llamados in the second (31-21) to take a slim 50-48 lead at the half on a Jason Castro buzzer-beating three-pointer. "At least we made some shots. Games 1, 3 and 5 we shot below .405. We need to make sure we shoot well in Game 7. We can't get two good games together," Reyes said. Talk 'N Text fired 14 three-pointers, the second most made by a team in a PBA Finals. Petron (formerly San Miguel Beer) holds the record with 15 triples.
Tim Cone
Over at the B-MEG side, Cone ponders on why B-MEG failed to sustain its hot start. "We got off to the start we wanted but we could not sustain it. We just could not get our ofense on track and we made too many turnovers." The Llamados made 17 errors in the game, which the Texters turned into 30 turnover points. "They (TNT) had a good shooting night and we didn’t do a gud job on our pick and roll defense." Cone said the rest of the Llamados need to step up to support import Denzel Bowles and James Yap offensively. "We got to make other people involved, we needed an extra scorer out there and we only had nine assists." "We’re so evenly matched so now its gonna come down to one game. It's the way it's destined from the very beginning," Cone ended. — JVP, GMA News
