PBA: Ginebra Kings trump Meralco Bolts

Barangay Ginebra handed Meralco its second worst defeat since joining the PBA last season, as the Kings cruised to a 100-73 triumph Saturday night in the season-ending Governors Cup at the Hoops Dome in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu.
 
Mark Caguioa pumped in 22 points and had four rebounds as the Kings improved to 2-1, while the Bolts dropped their second straight match.
 
Ginebra import scored 27 to lead the Kings' scoring, while rookie forward Allein Maliksi had a career-high 16 markers. Veteran big man Kerby Raymundo scattered 13 points.
 
Sol Mercado paced Meralco with 23 points, while Reynel Hugnatan and Bolts reinforcement Champ Oguchi chipped in 18 and 16 markers each.
 
Ginebra, from a slim 41-39 halftime lead, slowly created some space in the third before completely pulling away for good in the final canto.
 
The Kings will next face undefeated Rain or Shine (3-0) on Wednesday, while the Bolts take on reigning Commissioner's Cup champions B-MEG, which is currently on a two-game roll. — JVP, GMA News
