PBA: 2012 Rookie Draft order set; Petron gets number one pick

The Petron Blaze Boosters were unable to return to the Finals of the Governors' Cup to defend their title, but they did get a good consolation prize instead. In a draft lottery held during halftime of Sunday's Finals game between the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and the B-MEG Llamados, the Air21 Express won the rights to the first overall pick, while the Alaska Aces settled for second. However, an earlier deal requires the Express to send the pick to Petron.

The Blaze Boosters also own the third overall selection, thanks to a swap with the Barako Bull Energy, who will get the fifth pick in exchange. Other swaps see the Powerade Tigers shipping the sixth pick to the Barangay Ginebra Kings, while the Tigers in turn will get the tenth overall choice from the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters.
