PBA: LA Tenorio trade complete, Ginebra taps point guard's services

(Updated 5:02pm) The PBA Office of the Commissioner approved a complicated five-team trade that sees Jones Cup MVP LA Tenorio sent to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, in exchange for Global Port's JVee Casio. In the first deal, between the Barako Bull Energy and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, the Energy send swingman Willie Miller to BGSM, in exchange for slot man Enrico Villanueva. A second deal has Ginebra acquiring 2011 overall number one pick Jvee Casio from Global Port, with the Batang Pier getting back Willie Miller, plus Ginebra's 2014 first round draft pick. Part three of the trade has the Alaska Aces picking up Casio, plus a 2015 second round pick from Ginebra, in exchange for LA Tenorio. Finally, Alaska also gets gunner Dondon Hontiveros from the Petron Blaze Boosters, in exchange for role players Wesley Gonzales and Hans Thiele. When all is said and done, Barako Bull wound up with center Enrico Villanueva, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel gets LA Tenorio, Global Port gets Willie Miller and a 2014 first round pick, Alaska gets JVee Casio, Dondon Hontiveros and a 2015 second round pick, and Petron gets Wesley Gonzalez and Hans Thiele.

Tenorio quickly tweeted out his goodbyes to his Alaska fans and family, thanking them for their support. Another player who took to Twitter to say good bye was Dondon Hontiveros, who said, "Sorry Petron, didn't get to really be of help last year. Hoping it would be this year but things happen for a reason." In a statement by Alaska on their Facebook page, Aces general manager Joaqui Trillo said, "We have been approached by many teams for LA and they have all been denied because we felt LA was an integral part of our team. "However, looking forward, we also see the promise of JV and feel he can bring a lot to Alaska. So we are taking a leap of faith but a calculated one." - AMD/RAF, GMA News
