The problem staring at Rain or Shine Elasto Painters head coach Yeng Guiao was the same one from game one of their PBA Philippine Cup Finals series, his squad still couldn't hit from the field.

The 2012 Governors' Cup champions fell to the reigning two-time Philippine Cup titlists Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters, the latest defeat being an 89-81 late-game collapse.

"We're still struggling with our shooting percentages," Guiao said afterwards. "Shooting-wise, we can't get any shooting rhythm going."

The Elasto Painters finished with a 27-of-76 clip (35.5 percent) from the field, and went 6-of-23 (26.1 percent) from beyond the arc. Both were improvements from their game one numbers, 34.6 percent and 19.0 percent, respectively, but the result was still the same.

Entering the Finals, Rain or Shine was shooting 40.51 percent from the field, and 30.89 percent from downtown.

"We need to make adjustments, but not big adjustments. It's just that we need to gain back our confidence with our shots," Guiao elaborated.

Despite the 2-0 hole, Guiao was felt that a comeback was possible, saying, "0-2 is still manageable. We are not going to give up this series just like that. If we'll be able to get back on Sunday, it will still be a nice series going on."

The Elasto Painters got a bounce-back performance from big man JR Quinahan, who scored 16 to lead his side on 3-of-4 shooting from outside, 5-of-9 overall, while sophomore sensation Paul Lee padded the stats sheet with 15 markers, nine rebounds and four assists. Jervy Cruz was also solid once more, with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The missing link however was once again Jeff Chan, last season's Most Improved Player. Chan finished with only nine markers on 3-of-11 shooting, bringing him to 6-of-23 for the series.

One of Rain or Shine's few bright spots has been their ability to force turnovers and make TNT pay for them. In this game, they forced 13 miscues for 19 turnover points, which kept them in the thick of things.

They'll need more of that though in order to come back and tie this series, let alone win it. - AMD, GMA News
