Former Talk 'N Text head coach Chot Reyes has nothing but praise for his successor Norman Black, who has the Tropang Texters on the brink of a third straight Philippine title.

On Twitter, Reyes said the changes that Black, a former team consultant, has brought to the Talk 'N Text have made the difference, and that had he stayed on as TNT mentor, his tactics would have been too familiar to other coaches, and thus, the team would not be as successful as they are now.

Reyes had coached Talk 'N Text since January 2008. His last game with the team was in the semifinals of the 2012 Governors' Cup.

Black last year had been named to take over for Reyes, who in turn, took the reins of the national team. Still, the former grand-slam winner had to jump straight into the deep end, barely taking a break after steering the UAAP's Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles to a fifth straight title.

The American mentor began with Reyes' dribble drive offense, but has slowly been incorporating more of his philosophy and style.

Still, should the team close out the series by lifting the Perpetual Trophy, there is no doubt that Reyes set the foundation for this squad's winning ways.
