Gabe Freeman tabbed for ABL slam dunk contest, three Filipinos in three-point shootout

A trio of Filipino guards, as well as one of the imports for the San Miguel Beermen, will participate in the inaugural ABL Hoops Fest's Saigon Slam Jam, the ABL announced, Monday.



San Miguel Beerman import Gabe Freeman has been tapped as his squad's representative for the slam dunk contest, while his teammate, last season's MVP Leo Avenido, will star in the league's inaugural three-point shootout.

Two more Filipinos will also take part in the three-point contest, namely Jai Reyes of the Saigon Heat, and Patrick Cabahug of the Westports Malaysia Dragons.

The two contests will be part of the league's inaugural HoopsFest, a three-day weekend of hoops that sees a triple-header on both March 15 and March 17, with the Saigon Slam Jam side events taking place in-between, on March 16.

The Hoops Fest will be held at the Tan Binh Stadium and the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.  - AMD, GMA News
