Dillinger was hurt early Saturday morning in a car accident in Makati. The statement added that the Fil-Am swingman would need surgery to "realign his pelvis and stabilize the fracture [in his pelvic bone]."

The former second overall pick in the 2008 draft will then require "6-12 weeks to allow the bone to heal," followed by a rehabilitation period of "3-6 months depending on how Jared's body responds to the operation and rehab."

In a separate statement, PBA commissioner Chito Salud said, "It is always sad and concerning any time a member of the PBA family meets an accident of this nature. At the same time, we are relieved to know we are not confronted with a life-threatening situation in Jared's case.

"We extend to Jared and his family our prayers and support as he goes through the process of healing and rehab. His spirit and passion on court and the excellent organization he is a part of give me confidence Jared will be back in no time even better and stronger."

Dillinger this conference is averaging 5.00 points, 2.82 rebounds and 1.73 assists in 25.82 minutes.
