San Mig Coffee Mixer Marc Pingris and GlobalPort Batang Pier Kelly Nabong were ejected early in the third quarter after figuring in a scuffle on Wednesday, at the Cuneta Astrodome, during their PBA Governors' Cup game.
Instant replay showed that the fracas started when San Mig Coffee import Marqus Blakely dragged down GlobalPort's Marvin Hayes by the neck as the two ended up on the ground.
Joe Devance retaliated for Blakely, shoving Hayes. Kelly Nabong came to the rescue of Hayes, but his right forearm caught Blakely instead of Devance.
Marc Pingris charged at the GlobalPort player, throwing a punch to the player's face. Nabong held on to Pingris, but his attempt to knee the Gilas Pilipinas standout in the gut didn't connect.
The melee happened at the 8:11 mark of the third quarter, when San Mig was ahead 58-49.
In addition to the ejections, a double foul was called on Marvin Hayes and Marqus Blakely, while technical fouls were slapped on Hayes and Joe Devance for second motion.
Pingris also shared that he has since apologized to his coach, Tim Cone:

"Minsan talaga nangyayari sa players yun," said Marc Pingris. "Nagkainitan lang. Nabigla lang talaga."
"Nagulat ako sa pag attack ni Kelly [Nabong] kay Joe [Devance] pero hindi siguro ngayon yung time para magusap kami," Pingris added. "Pero kung talagang malamig na ang isa't isa, why not? Di naman ako ma-pride na tao e."
Pingris also shared that he has since apologized to his coach, Tim Cone:
"Nagsorry ako agad kay coach. Sabi niya sa akin, next time, be smart."
