Romeo, Ravena, Parks headline men's basketball squad to SEA Games
A trio of UAAP headliners will lead the men's basketball squad of the Philippines in the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Myanmar in December.
The troika of Terrence Romeo (FEU), Kiefer Ravena (ADMU) and Bobby Ray Parks (NU) topped the roster presented Tuesday morning at the Senate.
It will be the second stint for Ravena and Parks, who were part of the gold medal team in the 2011 edition of the competition, when the squad was known as Sinag. Also making another appearance are Gilas cadets 7'0" center Greg Slaughter, Garvo Lanete, and RR Garcia.
Rounding out the squad are Kevin Alas, also a Gilas cadet, Chris Newsome (ADMU), Jericho Cruz (ADU), Roi Sumang (UE), Prince Caperal (AU), and Mark Belo (FEU).
With several of the players joining the PBA Draft (Slaughter, Romeo, Garcia) and the PBA D-League (Cruz, Sumang, Parks), it is presumed that those players will have to get clearance from their squads in order to play. - AMD, GMA News
