Filipino high school prospect Kobe Paras, the son of PBA legend Benjie Paras, has drawn interest from an NCAA Division I university month after moving to the United States to pursue his basketball career there.
Recruiting analyst Neal Nieves reported the development on Twitter earlier this week.
UC Irvine offered 2016 6-foot-6 Wing Kobe Paras out of Cathedral HS (CA) today according to a source.

The 16-year-old Paras helped the Philippines to the gold medal in the FIBA Asia Under-18 3x3 championship last year. He gained further renown after beating representatives from the US and Spain to win the slam dunk title in the FIBA Under-18 3x3 competition last September.
He moved stateside last December after joining Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, California. While yet to play in a regular season game, he already started drawing raves, being featured in the LA Times last month after scoring 22 points in a summer tournament.
Paras will return to the Philippines to don national colors as the country's youth team prepares for the FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship in Doha, Qatar in August. — JST, GMA News
