FIBA World U-17: Batang Gilas beats UAE by 64 points to avoid last place

The Philippine national youth team finally booked a victory in the FIBA World Under-17 Championship with a 115-51 smashing of host team United Arab Emirates on Saturday in Dubai.

Batang Gilas managed to avoid last place, finishing 15th in the 16-nation competition, with a victory in the last day of the tournament.

The Philippines earlier dropped assignments to Angola, Greece, United States, France, Argentina, and Egypt.

The Batang Gilas players vented their ire on their Gulf opponents, ending the game by the first half, 49-26.
