WATCH: Marc Pingris leads Gilas in ice bucket challenge, joining LeBron, Kobe

Count Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Marc Pingris as one of the many celebrities that have participated in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge.

 

 

The challenge started in the United States, where common people and celebrities alike chose between dumping a cooler of ice bucket on their heads or donating $100 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association. ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease after the New York Yankees great, is a neurogenerative disorder similar to Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

 

Earlier, Lebron James also posted his version of the challenge, while Kobe Bryant did an alternative, showing himself dipping in a tub of water at 48 degrees Fahrenheit, or roughly nine degrees celsius.

 

 

 

 

Marcus Douthit and Jared Dillinger joined Pingris in the Instagram video, while Beau Belga and June Mar Fajardo carried the Gilas cooler over their heads. Pingris then challenged San Mig teammates Joe Devance and Rafi Reavis. Devance has posted his own version, thereafter challenging other Mixers PJ Simon and James Yap.
