PBA legend Samboy Lim collapses during exhibition game — report

Former San Miguel Beer great Samboy Lim was rushed to the hospital on Friday after collapsing during an exhibition game at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Another former PBA player Vince Hizon first broke the news on Twitter.

According to online reports, he was rushed to the hospital unconscious.

Fellow PBA great Nelson Asaytono told Snow Badua of Spin.ph that the 53-year-old Lim was stretching on the sidelines after being taken out of the game when he collapsed.

Lim starred for the Letran Knights and the Northern Consolidated Cement national team before joining San Miguel Beer in the PBA in 1986. Known as the "Skywalker" for his high-flying ability, Lim was named to the league's 25 Greatest Players List during the PBA's silver anniversary in 2000.

Messages of concern, including those from former and current players, quickly flooded Twitter soon after news broke out.
