PBA: Kia changes moniker to 'Carnival', taps Puerto Rican big man for Commisioner's Cup
League newcomer Kia is letting go of its Sorento moniker, opting to promote its Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Carnival for the 2015 Commissioner's Cup.
The move comes months before the release of the new generation Kia Carnival later this year.
The Kia Carnival will also be parading its 7-4 Puerto Rican import PJ Ramos, who played for both the Puerto Rican National Basketball Team and the Washington Wizards in the NBA.
“Now that we have PJ Ramos under the guidance of Coach Manny, we are definitely excited for the influence he can readily bring to the hard court," said Kia's representative to the PBA Board of Governors Ginia Domingo. "As always, Columbian Autocar Corporation (the exclusive distributor of Kia Motors in the Philippines) is behind the team one hundred percent and we will be cheering them on, every step of the way.”
Kia Carnival will be playing on January 27, opening day of the Commissioner's Cup, against the GlobalPort Batang Pier at the MOA Arena. - RAF/JDS, GMA News
