PBA: Purefoods suffers first defeat as Rain or Shine leans on Lee for victory

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters outscored the Purefoods Star Hotshots 22-13 in the third quarter to take home a 78-71 win on Saturday at Dipolog City.

Paul Lee led his team with 18 points and eight rebounds. Rick Jackson had 12 points and 15 boards, while Jeff Chan and Beau Belga chipped in 12 and 10 points off the bench.

The two teams were virtually tied heading into the half, with the Hotshots barely edgeing their foes, 40-38. The Elasto Painters turned it up in the third, though, limiting Purefoods to just 13 while scoring 22. Yeng Guiao's squad held on in the payoff period, matching Purefoods point for point to come out with a victory.

Daniel Orton paced Purefoods with 23 points, 23 rebounds and seven blocked shots. No other started posted double figures for the Hotshots, with Mark Barroca and Allein Maliksi adding 11 and 10 points. - RAF, GMA News
