PBA: Gamalinda gets it done as Blackwater stuns Ginebra

Marcus Douthit had 24 points, but it was Bam Gamalinda's 18 markers that proved to be the difference as the Blackwater Elite defeated Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 83-77, on Saturday in Dipolog City.

Reil Cervantes added 14 for the Elite, while veteran Eddie Laure chipped in seven. Blackwater bucked a slow start, erasing a 21-16 first quarter deficit to lead 37-36 at the half. Ginebra struggled to surge ahead in the third, staying behind by two heading into the final turn, 62-60.

In the final period, Blackwater bombarded Ginebra with 21 points, while limiting the crowd favorites to just 17 for the victory.

Orlando Johnson scored below his normal 40 points, this time just managing to tally 30. LA Tenorio had 17, while Sol Mercado chipped in 10. Other import Sanchir Tungalang just had two, while Mark Caguioa went scoreless.

With the day's results, Blackwater and Ginebra are now tied at second to the last place with identical 1-3 win-loss cards. Rain or Shine remains at the bottom at 0-2. - GMA News
