'50/50': Chris Tiu still undecided about retiring from PBA

Will Chris Tiu retire from the PBA after three years with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters?

 

The popular basketball player quickly became a trending topic on social media on Thursday after reports of his impending retirement broke.

 

But his brother Charles Tiu, a basketball commentator and former PBA assistant coach, said the former Ateneo star hasn't decided yet.

 

"Honestly, hindi pa siya decided," Charles told GMA News Online. "There is a good possibility (that he will retire). But there's also a chance he will play."

 

Charles pegged the chances of his brother retiring as "50/50," but added that he hopes that Chris would continue playing

 

Tiu has not yet spoken to Rain or Shine management about his future. Rain or Shine's season ended on Wednesday after losing to San Miguel in the Governors' Cup semifinals.

 

Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao, meanwhile, declined to comment on the issue, saying only his player can confirm it. — with Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
