PBA: Almazan, Chan carry Rain or Shine past Meralco

Raymond Almazan had 21 points and 17 rebounds to lift the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters past the Meralco Bolts, 97-87, on Wednesday.

The Elasto Painters overcame a 10-point third quarter lead, outscoring the Bolts 55-38 in the second half to put the game away.

"We had to bleed for this one," admitted Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao after the game. "This is really a big game for us."

Jeff Chan added 24 points, while Jericho Cruz chipped in 13 for Rain or Shine.

Jared Dillinger and Baser Amer came off the bench to lead Meralco, combining for 28 markers. Chris Newsome and Jimmy Alapag led the starters with 12 and 10 points, respectively. - GMA News
