The Elasto Painters took a commanding 3-0 series lead before the Aces clawed back to take the next two games. The Aces were hoping to take the series to Game 7, but a confident Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao had insisted that the crown was theirs for the taking.
The Elasto Painters led by more than 20 points in the 4th quarter and was up 16 points, 101-85, in the last two minutes of the game.
Jericho Cruz was named best player of the game while Paul Lee was adjudged Finals MVP.
Cruz led Rain or Shine with 21 points, while Paul Lee poured in 20 points in less than 18 minutes of play, going 7 of 8 from the field.
Big men Raymond Almazan and JR Quinahan, meanwhile, added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
It is the second title for the franchise after it claimed its first in the 2012 Governors' Cup against the B-Meg Llamados.
Calvin Abueva came off the bench to carry Alaska with 26 markers, while starters Kevin Racal and RJ Jazul tallied a combined 29 points. Rob Dozier, meanwhile, ended the game with 11 markers off a 4 of 15 clip. — Renee Fopalan/APG, GMA News
