Meralco continues mastery of TNT

The Meralco Bolts continued their mastery of TNT KaTropa with a 98-87 victory on Friday in Philippine Cup action.
The two teams played each other for the first time since the Governors' Cup last season, which saw the Bolts win the series 3-1 en route to their first finals appearance in franchise history.
Rookie Ed Daquioag sizzled anew for Meralco with 23 points, while Rabeh Al-Hussaini chipped in 11.
"Ed Daquioag stepped up, particularly in the fourth," said Meralco coach Norman Black. "He's a smart kid, very talented. I'm looking forward to his development throughout the year.
Reynel Hugnatan and Chris Newsome added 11 points apiece for Meralco, whose record improved to 2-1.
Jayson Castro and Kelly Williams scored 23 and 19 points, respectively, for TNT, who fell to 2-2 after the defeat. —JST, GMA News
