PBA: Meralco defeats Ginebra, spoils Slaughter’s return
The Meralco Bolts overcame an early assault from Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to earn a 93-78 victory on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup.
Down 32-21 after the opening period, Meralco found its rhythm in the next 24 minutes, outscoring the Gin Kings, 51-25, for a comfortable 72-57 advantage heading into the final frame.
Ginebra barely threatened in the fourth, failing to cut the lead to single digits.
Allen Durham packed the stats sheet with 30 points, 24 rebounds, and nine assists, while Jared Dillinger added 17 markers. Chris Newsome tallied 16 points with 13 boards and five assists.

The Bolts led by as many as 19 points after shooting 38 percent form the field. Also helping their cause were 10 made triples to Ginebra's five.
Justin Brownlee was limited to 13 points off a 5 of 15 shooting clip, while LA Tenorio scored 16. Greg Slaughter was the only other Ginebra player in double figures with 14. — BM, GMA News
