San Miguel routs Rain or Shine behind Ross’ 27

The San Miguel Beermen relied on Chris Ross’ hot shooting to defeat the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 103-96, on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Ross, who played almost 42 minutes, shot a high 55 percent from the field, while knocking down five triples.
Marcio Lassiter also chipped in 22, while Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo tallied 18 and 17 points, respectively.
The Beermen played without import Terik Bridgeman, who recorded just six points in two games played.
San Miguel will now bring in Terrence Watson in time for their game against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.
San Miguel set the tone early in the game, burying Rain or Shine in a 55-39 hole at the half. The Elasto Painters were able to trim the lead to just five heading in to the final period, 75-70, but the Beermen uncorked an 11-2 run to re-establish their advantage.
James Yap and Gabe Norwood were able to cut the deficit to just seven in the final two minutes, but back to back hits from Ross, along with two charities from Arwind Santos, put the game away.
J’Nathan Bullock scored 22 points for Rain or Shine, while Maverick Ahanmisi added 12. Gabe Norwood and Mark Borboran rounded up the scorers in double figures with 10 points each. — BAP, GMA News
