Late run lifts Beermen past GlobalPort

The San Miguel Beermen relied on a 33-21 run in the final frame to defeat the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 107-93.

Finding themselves down by as many as 11 points in the first half, San Miguel recovered to take a 74-72 edge heading into the payoff period, before unleashing a definitive run in the fourth to earn the victory.

June Mar Fajardo led the hot-shooting Beermen with 34 big points, while Brian Heruela, Marcio Lassiter, and Arwind Santos chipped in 17 points apiece. Matt Ganuelas-Rosser rounded up the players in double figures with 10.

San Miguel shot a high 53 percent from the field, hitting an efficient 59 percent inside three-point territory. They also found their shooters, dishing out 22 assists to GlobalPort’s 12.

GlobalPort, meanwhile, was led by Stanley Pringle with 23, while Kelly Nabong and Sean Anthony provided the needed lift with 15 points each. Ryan Arana also added 11 markers. — BAP, GMA News
