Magnolia downs TNT behind Barroca's 20
Mark Barroca came up big off the bench, scoring 20 points with eight boards, five rebounds, two steals, and a block with only one turnover to lead the Magnolia Hotshots to a 91-83 victory over the TNT KaTropa.
Justin Melton had a double-double, scoring 14 with 10 boards, while Marc Pinrgris and Ian Sangalang had their way in the paint with 13 points each.
TNT was within striking distance for most of the fourth period, as Mo Tautuaa cut the lead to six with just 1:51 left, 86-80. Ryan Reyes then it a triple to make it a four-point game with exactly one minute left, but four straight from Barroca off a timeout put the game away.
The Hotshots hit a high 46 percent from the field while limiting TNT to just 38 percent. Coach Chito Victolero’s squad also outrebounded their counterparts, 52-42.
TNT also got a lot from its reserves, as Troy Rosario was the only KaTropa in double figures with 15. Mo Tautuaa and Jayson Castro combined for 30, while RR Pogoy added 11. — DVM, GMA News
