LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar scored 23 points each and they lead Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to a 100-96 victory over the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Jervy Cruz added 17 points off the bench, while Raymond Aguilar tallied 16 as a starter. Kevin Ferrer wrapped up the scorers in double figures with 11.

The Gin Kings led by 10 points with 2:12 to go in the game, before the Beermen went on a mini run to cut the lead to just four with 1:22 remaining, 97-93.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone then called for time, inserting Japeth Aguilar. Aguilar pulled up for a triple and missed, as Marcio Lassiter corralled the rebound for a trip for two points from the line.

Jervy Cruz then missed off another timeout, but Scottie Thompson was there to grab the offensive board.

Chris Ross was forced to foul LA Tenorio to stop the time, and Tenorio split from the line for a three-point lead with 24 ticks to go, 98-95.

Arwind Santos had two attempts from deep but none went through, letting Ginebra escape with the victory.

June Mar Fajardo carried the Beermen with 33 big points and 11 boards, as Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter chipped in 16 points apiece. Arwind Santos, meanwhile, scored 12 with 10 boards. — DVM, GMA News
