Sacramento Kings coach Dave Joerger fell to one knee because of a brief dizzy spell on the sideline on Sunday and is doing fine, the team says.

The incident happened in the first quarter when Joerger rose quickly from his seat to shout directions at his players in a 113-98 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

"He's OK. He's alright," said assistant coach Elston Turner, who quickly helped Joerger to his feet, per ESPN. "Sometimes when you stand up real fast from a sitting position, you get a little bit light-headed. And that's what happened."

"I just had to grab him and pick him up," Turner said. "If you black out, you can really hurt yourself. So I was just trying to keep him from hitting the ground."

He left the court and was taken to the visitor's locker room to meet with their medical staff. Joerger didn't return as a precaution. The team hasn't said whether he'll be on the bench for the team's next game, Tuesday in New Orleans.

"He's a young coach in good health. A lot of energy, and he exerts it during the game. He exerts it in practice. And it's just an incident that happened. And unfortunately, it was when the lights were on," said Turner

George Hill told ESPN that Joerger addressed the team at halftime and appeared upbeat.

"We just wanted to know if he was fine. said he was going to get healthy and get back with us." — Reuters
