Aces blitz Phoenix early for easy victory
The Alaska Aces doubled Phoenix’s production in the first half to cruise to a 93-75 victory on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
The Aces capitalized on the Fuelmasters’ struggles. Racing to a 23-12 edge after the first 12 minutes. Coach Alex Compton’s squad did not let up in the second period, hitting 25 more points while limiting Phoenix to just 12 more for a 48-24 edge at the break.

All Alaska had to do was keep in step in the second half, never allowing Phoenix to go on a big enough run to be in striking distance.
Chris Banchero led Alaska with 22 points, while Calvin Abueva provided the lift off the bench with 21 points and 14 boards. Vic Manuel and Not Baclao were also steady reserves, scoring 10 each.
Matthew Wright and Jeff Chan carried Phoenix’s starting five with a combined 30 points, while Jason Perkins led the bench with 12 markers. — LA, GMA News
