Heat trade White to Hawks for Babbitt

The Miami Heat traded forward Okaro White to the Atlanta Hawks for forward Luke Babbitt on Wednesday, according to ESPN.

Babbitt, who is averaging 6.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 15.2 minutes per game this season, played for the Heat in 2016-17. The 28-year-old was the 16th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves out of Nevada in 2010. He spent his first three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers before going to New Orleans for the next three.

Babbitt joined Miami last season, and averaged 4.8 points in 68 games, including 55 starts. He is averaging 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 368 games over eight NBA seasons.

White, 25, is averaging 3.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 13.3 minutes for the Heat this season. He went undrafted out of Florida State in 2016, and is averaging 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 41 career games, including four starts. — Field Level Media/Reuters
