Jameer Nelson was traded for the second time in seven days on Thursday, going from the Chicago Bulls to the Detroit Pistons in a deal that reunited the point guard with former coach Stan Van Gundy.

Nelson, who played for the Magic during Van Gundy's tenure, was acquired on Feb. 1 by the Bulls along with Tony Allen and Omer Asik for Nikola Mirotic and a draft pick.

The Bulls will reportedly received center Willie Reed in return, but plan to place him on waivers before he ever suits up for the team.

Like Nelson, the trade is a second recent relocation for Reed. He was acquired by the Pistons on Jan. 30 in the trade involving Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Reed received a six-game suspension this week as the result of an NBA investigation into an Aug. 5 domestic violence incident. The players association filed a grievance on Reed's behalf. — Field Level Media/Reuters
