Ravena shines anew as Road Warriors rout Magnolia to even series

Kiefer Ravena rose to the occasion once again, this time scoring 20 points to lift the NLEX Road Warriors past the Magnolia Hotshots, 91-79, to even their best of seven semifinals series two games apiece on Friday.

Ravena came off the bench to lead his team in scoring, while JR Quinahan and Larry Fonacier combined for 24 more as reserves. Kevin Alas, meanwhile, paced the starters with 13 markers.

Up just two at the half, 41-39, the Road Warriors stepped on the gas in the third, connecting for 28 points while limiting Magnolia to just 20.

The Hotshots barely threatened in the fourth, trimming the lead to single just once after a Mark Barroca make at the 10:22 mark, 71-62.

A 7-0 swing stretched the lead to 16, after which NLEX cruised to a double-digit victory.

Magnolia’s go-to guys struggled from the field, with Ian Sangalang hitting a team-high 15 points, but off a 5 of 15 clip.

Paul Lee and Jio Jalalon rounded up the scorers in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. But the two also combined for a less-than-stellar 7 of 22 clip.

Aldrech Ramos also struggled, hitting jut three shots off 10 attempts.

Game 5 will be on Sunday, March 18, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City. — DVM, GMA News
