Dellavedova, Thon Maker joining Australia for next Gilas game

Already a powerhouse, Australia is adding more to its arsenal for its next game against Gilas Pilipinas in the qualifiers for the FIBA Basketball World Cup in July.

The Boomers will include NBA players Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker in their lineup for the next window of games, against Japan on June 29 and the Philippines on July 2. The duo both play for the Milwaukee Bucks, last seeing action in the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics.

“For the guys who have carried the load through the first two windows, it will be a great experience for them to play with both Delly and Thon," Australia coach Andrej Lemanis said in the Basketball Australia website.

Australia remains unbeaten in the qualifiers, a run that includes an 84-68 victory over Gilas last February. —JST, GMA News
