Alaska trades Calvin Abueva to Phoenix

The Alaska Aces have sent star forward Calvin Abueva to the Phoenix Fuel Masters.

The team confirmed the development on Tuesday in a statement.

“We would like to thank Calvin for his 6 years of service with Alaska and the good memories," said Alaska coach Alex Compton. "We felt as a franchise it was best for both Alaska and Calvin to have a fresh start at this time.”

Phoenix will send a 2019 first round draft pick along with guard Karl Dehesa to the Aces in return.

Abueva has not been seeing action for Alaska recently after an indefinite suspension following his absence without leave from the team.

He will join a Phoenix squad coached by Louie Alas, a former Alaska assistant coach under Compton. —JST, GMA News
